USWeb/CKS Clients are Big Winners at WebAwards

USWeb/CKS clients tie for most awards received at annual competition

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - December 17, 1998 - USWeb/CKS (Nasdaq: USWB), a leading strategic Internet and marketing communications company, today announced that Internet solutions built by the company received leading recognition during the 1998 WebAwards, an international Web site competition held by the Web Marketing Association. USWeb/CKS solutions received a total of ten awards in three categories, including "Best of Industry," "Outstanding Site," and "Standard of Excellence."

Over 500 sites were entered in the contest. Awards were based on design, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, ease of use and use of technology. The competition was judged by a team of independent Internet professionals including, advertising executives, site designers, corporate marketing executives, content providers, webmasters and media representatives.

In the "restaurant" category, USWeb/CKS received "Best of Industry" for business solutions designed for Blimpie International, the world's largest publicly held submarine sandwich franchiser. USWeb/CKS helped Blimpie establish a commercial Internet presence and business-to-business applications, which provide secure access and distribution of financial data and serve as an order and delivery mechanism for franchise equipment.

"Outstanding Site Awards" were presented to levi.com and mitsucars.com, the corporate Internet site for Mitsubishi Motors. Exemplifying world-class personalization, customization and performance, USWeb/CKS designed levi.com to build brand equity, establish consumer relationship marketing initiatives and serve as an online channel for selling products. For Mitsubishi, USWeb/CKS has helped the manufacturer debut new lines automobiles for the past three years. Last year alone, site traffic at mitsucars.com increased 400 percent, an accomplishment largely attributed to the site's easy-to-use navigational structure, intuitive design and access to key information.
