USWeb/CKS Continues Momentum With Relocation of Corporate Headquarters
Company Grows to Over 3,000 Internet Professionals
SAN FRANCISCO - August 2, 1999 - USWeb/CKS (Nasdaq:USWB), a leader in Internet professional services, today announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters from Santa Clara, California, to San Francisco's Multimedia Gulch where it will house strategy, technology and creative talent alongside corporate management.
The company moves into its new headquarters on the heels of attaining record earnings for the second quarter of this year and reaching a new milestone for growth: the company now employs over 3,000 professionals focused purely on providing Internet-related services.
The new corporate headquarters, located at 410 Townsend Street, marks the last phase of integration between USWeb and CKS, which merged in December 1998. The company has successfully integrated the functions, operations and cultures of the two organizations and has "co-located" its employees in most metropolitan areas. USWeb/CKS now spans 60 offices in 10 countries.

Interior Architects, Inc. (IA), which is ranked among the top three largest interior architectural design firms in the country, was hired by USWeb/CKS to design the new headquarters.
"This is the first time USWeb/CKS has had the opportunity to design their own building and define themselves with a visual statement," said Anthony Garrett, Design Principal at IA of San Francisco. "The company wanted a design that complemented the high-tech pace of their business and to showcase the fact that they are rooted in creative design."
USWeb/CKS has a ten-year lease on the four-story timber frame and brick warehouse. The new headquarters accommodates 400 people in various office configurations. Featured in the new headquarters are two cylindrical conference rooms as well as multiple teaming areas, a multi-purpose room and numerous, smaller conference rooms.
USWeb/CKS now shares the same city headquarters as some of its premiere clients, including Levi Strauss & Co. and Williams-Sonoma, Inc.
As a result of the company's rapid growth, USWeb/CKS's San Francisco field offices located on 651 Brannan and 345 Spear Streets will remain open. Employees in USWeb/CKS's offices on 2 Harrison Street and 300 Montgomery Street will be gradually relocated. The former company headquarters in Santa Clara, California will continue to house many of the company's corporate operations staff.
