USWeb/CKS Helps OneNetNow to Develop Innovative Community-based Site, Reflecting Real-Life Diversity of Ideas and Perspectives

Site Enables Users to Create Their Own Community Content, Share Information

Los Angeles - October 28, 1999 - USWeb/CKS (NASDAQ: USWB), the leader in Internet professional services, today announced its work with OneNetNow to create http://www.onenetnow.com, a promising membership-based web site with dynamic, culturally diverse community content and services. The web site is scheduled to launch in early 2000, as was announced earlier this week in a press conference on UCLAs campus.

onenetnow.com plans to offer its members the ability to define their experiences through the creation of content and information sharing by using personalization and easy-to-use online tools being developed by USWeb/CKS. USWeb/CKS is also developing advanced technology designed to support a large membership with news, information, member-driven content and online chat.

OneNetNow approached USWeb/CKS with the vision of designing a Web site and user experience that would reflect the diversity of ideas and perspectives of the wide range of people who make up America. USWeb/CKS has worked hand-in-hand with OneNetNow to assist with the development of their business strategy and corporate image and to create the online environment and tools that will enrich the experience with member-contributed content.

We chose to work with USWeb/CKS because they clearly demonstrate the competence necessary to make online communities work, said Marcus Morton, CEO, OneNetNow. Their knowledge of and experience with community sites and tools is extremely impressive.

To create an online community site with dynamic, cultural appeal, USWeb/CKS combined its expertise strategy, creative and technology and is working closely with the OneNetNow leadership to bring the new site to fruition, added Nick Rothenberg, partner, USWeb/CKS.

When the site is launched, onenetnow.com plans to provide a valuable and empowering place on the Internet. The site will be designed to enable members to join and create communities that correspond to their specific interests. Users and communities of users will have the ability to create their own dynamic content electronic newsletters, Web pages and other information sharing documents with the web-based tools provided free-of-charge by onenetnow.com. Additionally, the site will be designed to give members access to basic services, such as email, community bulletin boards, online events, chats and a natural-language search engine. Finally, onenetnow.com plans to offer a variety of templates and assistance for all levels of users, from Internet novices to HTML designers.

USWeb/CKS has been working with onenetnow.com since June of this year.
