Toby Corey President and Chief Operating Officer As President, Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of USWeb/CKS, Toby Corey is building an organization whose mission is to help clients understand how to leverage change to their advantage. "Change is the only element anyone can count on," says Corey. "The way I see it, you're either growing or dying, going forward or going backwards, and the agent driving that momentum is change. I believe that right now, the Internet is the driving factor to unparalleled change. It represents a frictionless economy and unbounded communications. It represents an absolutely different way of thinking about the world and thinking about business. Our job is to help clients think about the implications of this phenomenon. Because, businesses that can be a champion of this change are the ones that will be successful." With 15+ years of industry experience in general management, operations, finance and marketing, Corey manages the P&L and day-to-day operations of USWeb/CKS. Corey steers the direction of the development, marketing, and operational activities while overseeing the firm's substantial investments in infrastructure. Corey's hands-on involvement has helped scale USWeb/CKS into a 2100-person organization armed to equip clients for the digital economy. Formerly, Vice President of Marketing for Novell's NetWare products division, Corey was responsible for worldwide marketing of the $1 billion NetWare product line. While in this position, Corey launched and repositioned Novell's NetWare 4.1 network operating system, making it the world's best selling network operating system. He also increased NetWare sales more than 19% in 1995. During his five-year tenure at Novell, Corey served in other various senior management positions, including Senior Director of Marketing for Novell's Mobile and Client division and Desktop division. Prior to joining Novell, Corey held marketing management positions with Ashton Tate and other high-tech companies.
