Robert T. Clarkson Chief Operating Officer As chief operating officer, Robert Clarkson oversees the company's worldwide operations. Clarkson is responsible for the financial performance and organizational structure of nine regions worldwide. He provides high-caliber strategy expertise, hands-on business operations and senior level leadership experience to the company and its clients. Before his appointment to COO, Clarkson was executive partner responsible for the Northwest region, leading the company's largest and most financially successful region. He brings an excellent track record in bringing together the multidisciplinary pool of talent in creative, strategy and technology to his role as COO. Prior to assuming responsibility for the Northwest region, he served as executive partner for International Operations. Prior to the merger of USWeb and CKS, Clarkson was executive vice president of CKS with multiple operational responsibilities, including the technology operations, the motion graphics unit and all international operations. He also served as the executive vice president of business development for CKS responsible for mergers, acquisitions and partnerships. In this role he oversaw the completion of CKS acquisitions in Germany, New York and North Carolina. During his tenure at CKS, Clarkson turned around unprofitable units, seeded and nourished start-up operations within the firm and oversaw the rapid growth of the technology and international operations. Prior to joining CKS, Clarkson practiced corporate and securities law with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto, California, a high-technology law firm, where he was CKS's principal outside counsel. At Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, he represented a wide variety of technology companies, as well as venture capital and investment banking firms in all manner of transactions, including IPOs, venture capital financing, technology licensing, partnerships and mergers and acquisitions. Clarkson received his bachelor's degree with distinction and honors from Stanford University in 1975 and his J.D. degree with honors from UCLA in 1982. |
